Yoga Classes & Times

“There is a way of doing yoga poses that we call “asanas”, without the slightest effort. Movement is the song of the body. Yes, the body has its own song from which the movement of dancing arises spontaneously. In other words, the liberation of the upper part of the body (the head, neck, arms, shoulders, and trunk) produced by the acceptance of gravity in the lower part of the body (legs, feet, knees, and hips) is the origin of lightness, and dancing its expression. This song, if you care to listen to it, is beauty. We could say that it is a part of nature. We sing when we are happy and the body goes with it like waves in the sea.”

All Level Classes
Each class is different and comprises various sequences of asanas (the postures). Over a period of 8 classes many of the foundational asanas will have been experienced. In an Iyengar style class the postures are held to bring about a deep release of the fascial (connective tissue) system. Alignment is very important in this discipline of yoga, as this allows each individual part as well as the physiological systems to function to their best potential. Often there will be a reading to set the intention for the class and, sometimes there will be breath work and meditation.

Restorative Class
This gentle class offers fully supported poses. Blankets, blocks, bolsters, and straps ease the student into a state of relaxation. Guided visualizations and meditations are incorporated along with breathwork practices. This class is suitable for seniors, injuries, beginners or anyone looking to reduce their stress.
